PTC Contractor Thanks Crews for Their Hard Work With Mid-Project Completion Lunch

Coliseum Central motorists cannot believe the progress.

Each week it seems another wall is up, a parking deck completed, a road is paved.

The Peninsula Town Center is rising quickly on the site of the former Coliseum Mall in Hampton, thanks to the efforts of Hoar Construction and its many able subcontractors.

That's why Hoar and project co-developer, Steiner + Associates of Columbus, Ohio, erected a tent on May 28 in the parking lot and invited the workers to take a break and enjoy a hearty lunch on them.

Some 200 people enjoyed barbecue, fried chicken, fish and all the fixings. The two companies traditionally host lunch for their crews mid-way through construction. For this event, they also invited management from Macy's, J.C. Penney's and the three on-site restaurants, which have continued to operate during the building process.

Peninsula Town Center, which will feature a million square feet of retail, residential and office space, is scheduled to open Phase One in the spring of 2009.
